Invitation Day 2
The second Gents Invitation Day was held at Grimsby Golf Club on Saturday 25/8/2007 with a large field taking part. The first competitors teed off at 7.30am with a continuous stream of 4 balls until 3pm in the afternoon. The weather stayed fine for the 200 players taking and conditions were ideal for golf.
The competition was a better ball stableford pairs played of full handicap and it attracted visitors invited by a Grimsby member from near and far across the region.
Seven prizes were awarded in total and the 1st place was won after a countback with both teams finishing with 44 points.
In second place was Grimsby member Phil Pocklington with his guest Terry Smith from Cleethorpes.

A special thank you from the Hand & Comps committee goes to Terry Smith & Pete McRoberts who manned the halfway house from 9am time until 5pm on the day. They provided drinks and beverages at the turn. It went down very well with the members and was very much appreciated by the guests.
It is not known who paid for the beverages but whoever it was deserves a vote of thanks etc. Both of them never stopped all day.
